1. Who this is about
This Privacy Policy explains how AideFirst Home Services Private Limited ("we", "us", "AideFirst") collects, uses and protects personal data when you use the AideFirst app — as a customer booking care, or as someone whose details a customer has given us (a dependent, an emergency contact).
It should be read alongside our Terms, and is governed by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and other applicable Indian law.
2. What we collect
Account details — name, mobile number, email, password (stored as a hash, never in readable form), preferred language
Booking details — service address, dates, care category, dependent details you add (name, age, relationship, notes, photo)
Emergency and SOS details — your emergency contact’s name and number, and the location the app has when you use SOS
Payment records — booking amounts and whether the cash has been collected. We take no card, bank or UPI details because payment is in cash at the end of the service
Care professional applications — for anyone applying to work with us: identity proof, address proof, police verification, and other documents needed to verify them
Device information — a push-notification token, so we can tell you when a caregiver is on the way
3. Why we process it
To arrange and deliver the care you book, take payment, verify care professionals before they are engaged, respond to SOS alerts, provide support, and meet record-keeping obligations under tax and consumer-protection law.
Promotional messages are sent only if you have separately opted in, from the Account screen. Refusing this consent, or withdrawing it later, does not affect your ability to book care.
4. Who we share it with
The care professional assigned to your booking — the details needed to deliver that specific booking, and nothing more
Cloud storage and hosting — application data and uploaded documents are hosted with providers under contract to us, within India
Law enforcement or regulators — only where required by law
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.
5. How long we keep it
Account and booking data is kept for as long as your account is active, and afterwards for as long as tax, accounting or dispute-resolution law requires us to keep booking and payment records.
A rejected care-professional application’s verification documents are kept for up to 180 days after rejection, to allow re-application or appeal, and then deleted automatically.
If you delete your account, we anonymise your profile immediately (see clause 7) rather than deleting booking records outright, since those records have their own legal retention requirement.
6. Keeping it safe
Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, not as plain text. Documents you upload for verification are accessible only through short-lived, signed links rather than a permanent public address. Access to customer and applicant data within AideFirst is limited to what a role needs to do its job.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee against every risk — but we treat a security failure as a serious matter and will tell you if one affects your data.
7. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you may:
Access — see what personal data we hold about you
Correct — ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete data
Erase — ask us to delete your account’s personal data
Withdraw consent — for anything we process on the basis of your consent, such as marketing messages
You can exercise access and erasure yourself, any time, from Account → Export my data and Account → Delete my account. Deleting your account anonymises your profile and removes your saved addresses and dependents; it does not delete bookings already made, which we keep as financial records with your identifying details removed.
For anything you cannot do yourself, or if you disagree with how a request was handled, contact our Grievance Officer: Grievance Officer, AideFirst, grievance@aidefirst.com, +918631234567. We will acknowledge a grievance within 7 days.
You may also complain to the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied with our response.
8. Care professionals
If you apply to work with us, the verification documents you submit (identity, address, police verification) are used solely to assess your application and, if approved, to meet our ongoing safety obligations to customers. They are not shared beyond what verification requires.
A rejected application’s documents are deleted automatically after the retention period in clause 5.
9. Children and dependents
AideFirst accounts are for adults (18 and over). Where you add a dependent — a child, an elderly or disabled family member — you are providing their data on their behalf, as the person legally authorised to arrange care for them, and you confirm you have the authority to do so.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices change. When we do, we publish a new version number and date, matching the Terms’ versioning.
